5 Nutrition Social Media Content Ideas When You’re Feeling Overwhelmed

Whether you’re starting your nutrition business while juggling working a part or full-time job, going to nutrition school, managing your family, or all of the above, I know that brainstorming nutrition social media content ideas is one the last things you want to be doing with your time!

As your business grows and you have steady income, hiring a social media manager that provides done-for-you content for health coaches can be a great option for staying consistent and taking content creation off your to-do list.

But that’s not always feasible (or smart) to do when you’re just starting out.

So how can you make content creation a little less overwhelming when you’re starting your nutrition business and juggling all the things?

In this blog post, I’ll share 5 nutrition social media content ideas to help you stay motivated and consistent on social media, even when you’re feeling overwhelmed!

  1. Get Personal: Share Your Story

One of the most powerful ways to connect with your social media audience is by sharing your personal story.

Using your story and the shared experiences you have with your audience is an easy way to create content and connect with your followers.

Here are some reasons why sharing your story with your audience is important:

  • Builds trust: When you share your personal health or nutrition story, you're showing your audience that you're a real person who truly understands what they’re going through. This can help build trust with your community and position you as a go-to resource and authority on the topic.

  • Relatable content: Sharing your story can help your audience relate to your experiences and feel more connected to you. This makes your content more engaging and memorable, helping to keep people in your circle.

  • Unique content: Sharing your unique story helps you create content that is different, helping you to stand out from other practitioners in your niche and bring in new followers.

With AI resources like ChatGPT and Google Gemini being so available for content creation, sharing your personal story is a way to make your content relatable, and that’s something that AI could never replicate.

Here are a few different ways to incorporate your personal story into your social media content:

  • Share your journey: Talk about your health journey and why you became a health coach or nutritionist. What was the turning point on your own health journey? What challenges did you face along the way? How did you overcome those challenges?

  • Share your personal experiences with nutrition: Discuss your own experiences with nutrition and lifestyle habits and how they relate to your niche. What has worked for you? What hasn't? What lessons have you learned?

  • Share your struggles and wins: Be honest about your struggles and wins. This can help your audience feel more connected to you, understand that everyone faces challenges (even nutritionists!), and show them it’s important to celebrate wins, even small ones.

  • Share your tips and advice: Share tips and advice with your audience to help them solve their problem. This can help them feel more empowered and motivated to work with you, especially if they experience a quick win with your advice.

  • Create a before-and-after story: Share a before-and-after story about your own health and wellness journey. This can be a powerful way to inspire your audience and show them that you understand their struggles firsthand, as you’ve gone through it yourself.

By sharing your personal story, you can create engaging, relatable, and authentic content that will help you connect with your audience and grow your business.

Remember, everyone has a unique story to tell. So don't be afraid to share yours!

2. Look for Trending Reel Topics

Another easy way to create engaging social media content when you’re overwhelmed is to jump on trending topics.

By creating Instagram reels that are relevant to current trends, you're more likely to reach a wider audience and be seen by new people while keeping your content current and engaging.

Plus, using trending ideas is a lot easier to replicate than trying to think of your own from scratch!

Here are some ways to find trending reel topics and audios on Instagram:

  • Check out the Explore page: The Explore page on Instagram is a great place to find trending topics and reels. You can see what's popular in different categories, such as fitness, health, and wellness, or use trending content from other industries as inspiration and repurpose it for your niche.

  • Use Instagram's search bar: The search bar is a great place to search for specific keywords or hashtags to find trending topics and reels. For example, you could search for "health trends" or "nutrition tips" to get a few ideas.

  • Follow more established health coaches and nutritionists: Many established health coaches and nutritionists share trending topics and reels on their accounts. Some may even have expert social media managers that run their accounts for them. By following these accounts, you can stay up-to-date on the latest trends and use their posts as inspiration for your own content.

Once you've found a trending topic, you can create Instagram reels that are relevant to your nutrition business and niche.

Here are a few ideas for Instagram reels you can create:

  • Create a tutorial: Share a tutorial on a trending health topic for your niche. For example, if your niche is plant-based eating, you could create a tutorial on how to make a delicious plant-based meal.

  • Share your opinion: If you have a strong or unique opinion on a trending health and wellness topic, share it with your audience. This can help you stand out from the crowd and spark a conversation, as polarizing content does well on social media.

  • Create a before-and-after transformation: Create a before-and-after transformation reel featuring a client who has achieved their goals while working with you.

  • Point of view (POV): POV content is a great way to be relatable and help your audience resonate with your message. Think of something that most people within your niche experience and create a reel around that. For example, if your niche is women’s health, your reel copy could say, “POV: You’ve had period problems for years but your doctor keeps telling you nothing is wrong with you.”

Here are some examples of trending topics and how you can make them into reels:

  • Trending topic: ‘What I eat in a day’

    • Reel idea: Record clips of your daily meals and stitch them into a reel. You could also compare meals from day-to-day to show how each day can be different and how everyone needs to find what works best for them.

  • Trending topic: ‘Grocery haul’

    • Reel idea: Record yourself at the grocery store, showing items you like to buy that are specific to your niche.

  • Trending topic: ‘Morning routine’

    • Reel idea: Record clips of your morning routine, from food choices to lifestyle habits, and explain why these habits support your niche.

Remember that the key is to be creative, use content from other accounts only as inspiration, and ask yourself, “how can this trend be applied to my own nutrition business and niche?”

By creating content that is relevant to trending topics, you can make your health coach marketing on social media super easy when you’re feeling overwhelmed and get more eyeballs on your content!

3. Post Inspirational Content

The next social media content idea to try when you’re feeling overwhelmed with what to share is inspirational content.

By inspiring your audience with your content, you not only provide value, but also build a positive community around your nutrition business brand and help your followers feel good.

Not only is creating inspirational content easy, but it’s also a good social media strategy in general because it:

  • Builds community: Inspirational content can help create a positive and supportive community around your brand. This can make your followers feel more connected to you and each other.

  • Motivates and inspires: Inspirational content can motivate and inspire your followers to make positive changes in their health journey, and may even increase the likelihood of seeking your help.

  • Shows your values: The type of inspirational content you share can reflect your values and beliefs. This can help you attract ideal clients who share your values and connect with you on a deeper level.

Here are a few ideas for Inspirational content you can share on social media:

  • Quotes: Share inspiring quotes from famous people or industry leaders, or create your own based on personal experience.

  • Client stories: Share success stories and testimonials from your clients. This can be a great way to inspire others and show how you help people.

  • Feel-good messages: Share uplifting messages and affirmations. This can help your followers feel motivated and empowered on their health journey.

  • Visual content: Use images and videos to create inspirational content, such as before-and-after stories and relatable day-to-day situations related to your niche.

  • Personal stories: Share talking reels about your own personal experiences and how you overcame your health challenges.

Sharing inspirational content is an easy way to start posting on social media to cultivate a strong, positive community.

So if you’re feeling overwhelmed when it comes to social media marketing, consider posting inspirational content!

4. Post Client Testimonials/Wins

Another social media content idea to lean on when you’re feeling overwhelmed and need quick and easy nutrition Instagram post ideas is to post client testimonials and wins.

Sharing client testimonials can be a great way to show potential clients what it’s like to work with you and share a bird’s eye view of the results they can achieve too.

Here are some reasons why sharing client wins on social media will help to grow your business:

  • Builds trust and credibility: Sharing client testimonials can help your audience trust that you can help them solve their health problem and achieve their goals.

  • Social proof: When people see that others have had a positive experience working with you, they're more likely to try your services.

  • Increases conversions: Testimonials can help encourage people to take the leap and book a discovery call or decide to work with you.

  • Shows your value: By sharing client testimonials, you can demonstrate the value of your services and how they benefit people on their health and wellness journeys.

How do you get testimonials from your past clients?

One thing I recommend is to send clients a form or survey to fill out at the end of their time working with you (bonus points for sending one half-way through your time together as well for mid-point feedback!).

Sending a form or survey makes providing a testimonial easy for your clients and increases the likelihood of you receiving a testimonial from them.

The pre-designed questions also give your clients more direction with their testimonial writing and increases the probability that you’ll receive a more specific testimonial as opposed to something too vague or non-specific.

Once you have your testimonials and client wins in hand, it’s time to start creating content with them!

There are many different types of client testimonials and wins you can share on social media. Here are a few ideas:

  • Before-and-after photos: If you work in a niche where your clients experience physical transformations, try sharing before-and-after photos so your audience can visually see what they have the potential to achieve.

  • Written testimonials: Summarize your written testimonials in an Instagram graphic or carousel to highlight positive experiences.

  • Video testimonials: Create reels using video testimonials so your audience can see and hear your past clients and the transformation they’ve experienced working with you.

  • Client quotes: Share short quotes from your clients that highlight the benefits of working with you. A screenshot of a message or email works well!

Sharing testimonials and wins is a super easy strategy to use to post social media content when you’re feeling overwhelmed and is a perfect example of how to be authentic on Instagram.

By sharing client testimonials and wins, you can build trust, credibility, and social proof for your nutrition business to help you attract new clients, increase conversions, and become a go-to expert in your niche.

5. Repurpose Your Content

Finally, my absolute favourite of the five social media content ideas that you can use when you’re feeling overwhelmed is to repurpose your content!

Repurposing your content is a great way to save time and effort while still providing your audience with high-value information.

What do I mean by ‘repurpose your content’?

Repurposing your content means taking content you already have created, and using it to make something new.

Here are some ways you can repurpose your content:

  • Turn blog posts into social media content: Because blog posts are a type of long-form content, you can easily break them down into smaller pieces of content for social media in the form of a simple graphic with a longer caption, or a carousel graphic and a caption that is short and sweet.

  • Repurpose email marketing content: If you regularly send newsletters to your email list, try using some of your email marketing content to help you create posts for social media.

  • Create infographics: If your niche involves complex processes or regular research, turn this information into easy-to-digest infographic-style posts for Instagram! Bonus: resize your image to be optimal for Pinterest and post it there as well!

  • Create videos: Film yourself working or taking client calls and use it as b-roll video for reels! While this may not be repurposing content technically, it is a way to easily create content with tasks you’re already doing. Multitasking for the win!

  • Make content with podcasts: Have a podcast? This is a great way to repurpose content! Use transcripts of your solo or guest recordings to create high-value social media posts in minutes.

The great thing about repurposing content is that you can use it in so many different ways.

Want to write a new blog post? Repurpose a popular social media post!

Need a quick carousel post idea for social media? Use an email that had a lot of opens or engagement!

There’s no need to start from scratch every time you sit down to put a social media post together.

The options are endless when it comes to repurposing content and it is a great way to help yourself feel less overwhelmed and start posting on social media consistently.
